कराची: पाकिस्तानी टीम से बाहर चल रहे सलामी टेस्ट बल्लेबाज इमरान फरहत ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट को अलविदा कह दिया है ताकि वह कल से दुबई में शुरू हो रही मास्टर्स चैम्पियंस लीग में भाग ले सकें.
तैतीस बरस के फरहत ने कल पाकिस्तान क्रिकेट बोर्ड के अधिकारियों से मिलने के बाद यह फैसला किया जिन्हें एमसीएल में भाग लेने के लिए एनओसी भी मिल गया है.
फरहत ने आखिरी बार 2013 में पाकिस्तान के लिए खेला था. पाकिस्तान के कई क्रिकेटरों को मास्टर्स लीग में भाग लेने के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट को अलविदा कहना पड़ा है. पीसीबी की नीति के तहत एमसीएल के लिए करार करने वाले खिलाड़ी को पहले अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से संन्यास का ऐलान करना पड़ता है और उसके बाद यह फैसला वापिस नहीं लिया जा सकता.
फरहत ने पाकिस्तान के लिए 40 टेस्ट, 58 वनडे और सात टी20 मैच खेले हैं. पीसीबी ने कहा है कि एमसीएल खेलने वाले खिलाड़ी घरेलू क्रिकेट खेलना जारी रख सकते हैं.
फरहत के अलावा अब्दुल रज्जाक, सलीम इलाही, मोहम्मद युसूफ, सकलेन मुश्ताक, राना नावेद, तौफीक उमर, यासिर हमीद, मुश्ताक अहमद, अजहर महमूद, हसन रजा , हुमायूं फरहत और मोहम्मद खलील भी एमसीएल खेलेंगे.

દેશમાં સ્માર્ટ સિટીઝ બનાવવા માટે સરકારે પસંદ કરેલા 98માંથી 20 શહેરોના નામની પહેલી યાદી બહાર પાડી છે. ગુજરાતના બે શહેરને એમાં સ્થાન મળ્યું છે...
નવી દિલ્હી – કેન્દ્ર સરકારે તેના સ્માર્ટ સિટીઝ મિશન માટે પસંદ કરેલા 98 શહેરોમાંથી 20 શહેરોના નામોની આજે જાહેરાત કરી છે. આ શહેરોને સૌથી પહેલા સ્માર્ટ સિટી બનાવવામાં આવશે. એમને તે માટે સરકાર તરફથી ભંડોળ પહેલાં પ્રાપ્ત થશે.
આવતા બે વર્ષમાં વધુ બે યાદી જાહેર કરવામાં આવશે જેમાં અનુક્રમે 40 અને 38 શહેરોના નામ જાહેર કરવામાં આવશે.
આજે જાહેર કરાયેલી યાદીમાં ગુજરાતના બે શહેરના નામ છે – અમદાવાદ અને સુરત.
અન્ય શહેરો છે – ભૂવનેશ્વર (ઓડિશા), પુણે (મહારાષ્ટ્ર), જયપુર (રાજસ્થાન), કોચી (કેરળ), વિશાખાપટનમ (આંધ્ર પ્રદેશ), સોલાપુર (મહારાષ્ટ્ર), દાવણગીરી (કર્ણાટક), ઈન્દોર (મધ્ય પ્રદેશ), નવી દિલ્હી મ્યુનિસિપલ કોર્પોરેશન, કોઈમ્બતુર (તામિલ નાડુ), કાકીનાડા (આંધ્ર પ્રદેશ), બેલગાવી (કર્ણાટક), ઉદયપુર (રાજસ્થાન), ગુવાહાટી (આસામ), ચેન્નાઈ (તામિલ નાડુ), લુધિયાણા (પંજાબ) અને ભોપાલ (મધ્ય પ્રદેશ).
