जम्मू-कश्मीर में आतंकियों ��"र सेना के बीच हुई मुठभेड़ में थलसेना के कर्नल शहीद हो गए, घटना कुपवाड़ा क्षेत्र की है
श्रीनगर। जम्मू कश्मीर के सीमावर्ती जिले कुपवाड़ा में सुरक्षा बलों पर आतंकवादियों के हमले में 41 राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के कमांडिंग ऑफिसर कर्नल संतोष महादिक शहीद हो गए। कर्नल महादिक ने सफलतापूर्वक कई आतंकवादी रोधी अभियानों की अगुवाई की थी। उन्हें अभियान के दौरान बेजोड़ नेतृत्व क्षमता एवं साहस से काम लेने के लिए सेना मेडल से नवाजा जा चुका है। कुपवाड़ा में छुपे आतंकवादियों की धरपकड़ के लिए सेना और पुलिस ने पिछले 10 दिनों से संयुक्त अभियान चलाया हुआ है।
रक्षा मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल एन एन जोशी ने बताया कि कुपवाड़ा में हैहामा के मनीगाह इलाके के सभय बेनक जंगलों में आतंकवादियों के छुपे होने की सूचना मिली थी , जिसके बाद सेना और पुलिस का संयुक्त अभियान शुरू किया गया। पास के शिविरों से सेना के अतिरिक्त जवान भी मौके पर पहुंचे और उन्होंने घेराबंदी शुरू कर दी। सुरक्षा बल जब जंगल में एक विशेष स्थान की ओर बढ रहे थे , तभी जंगल में छुपे आतंकवादियों ने सुरक्षा बलों पर गोलीबारी शुरू कर दी। इसके बाद दोनों पक्षों के बाद मुठभेड़ हुई। इस हमले में कमांडिंग ऑफिसर घायल हो गए। आतंकवादियों के हमले के बाद दोनों पक्षों के बीच हुई मुठभेड़ में जम्मू कश्मीर पुलिस के विशेष अभियान दस्ते का एक सदस्य भी घायल हुआ।
घायल वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारी को सेना के अस्पताल ले जाया गया, लेकिन रास्ते में ही उनकी मौत हो गई। उत्तरी कमान के सेना कमांडर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल डी एस हुड्डा ने कर्नल महादिक की मौत पर गहरा शोक व्यक्त किया है। उन्होंने शोक संदेश में कहा कि हम कर्नल संतोष जैसे अधिकारियों के प्रति कृतज्ञ हैं जो मोर्चा संभालते हैं और आतंकवाद के खिलाफ लड़ाई में जान की कीमत चुकाने के लिए तैयार रहते हैं। सेना उनके परिवार को पूरी मदद देने के लिए तैयार है। कर्नल महादिक के परिवार में उनकी पत्नी और 11 साल तथा पांच साल के दो बच्चे हैं। लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल जोशी ने बताया कि आतंकवादियों की धरपकड़ के लिए अभियान अब भी जारी है।

SBI to recruit 2000 POs and 5000 Clerks this Financial Year
The State Bank of India (SBI) is going to hire 7,000 people this financial year to support its branch expansion plans and for the regular needs. “We will hire about 2,000 probationary officers and the rest clerks. We are going to add 700 more branches this financial year to take the total to beyond 17,000 branches,” Rajnish Kumar, Managing Director of SBI, has said.
The need for human resources comes down as productivity increases with proliferation of technology products.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said about 100 new branches had already been set up this year so far and the remaining would be started in the next few months. “We have multiple channels that our customers can reach out to us. In a vast country like India, you need to have a variety of channels,” he said.
E-wallet
The bank, which launched an e-wallet app for smart phone users, would launch Batua (purse), a multi-lingual app for feature (basic) phones. Claiming that this was a first of its kind app for feature phones, he said it would be available in 13 Indian languages,” he said.
The bank is planning to launch the app in the next three weeks.
Corp credit subdued
The bank witnessed a subdued growth in corporate credit in the first half of the current financial year. “At 8.4 per cent, the growth was subdued in this sector. Increase in investments in infrastructure would help this to grow in the second half. We see traction in the power sector,” he said.
